When you travel on a Jaipur, Rajasthan tour, your guide will surely take you to Raj Mandir. Why?
It was the year 2014 when I got a second chance to visit Rajasthan and its beauty with my wife. This time I needed to travel to Jaipur. Decided to take a cab and explore the landmarks of Jaipur for a day. To my surprise, the cab driver told me about the Raj Mandir being one of the significant places to visit, I had no idea about it. In fact, it was the nearest landmark to the hotel I stayed in and the first place he took us. He drove around the theater. I saw the poster of the “Charas” movie. Before I questioned, He explained why the poster is still there in the theater. He explained it was the very first movie they played in the theater in the year 1976, and I must say the first is always special, right? Since then, Charas’ poster has been mounted on the wall and has a dedicated place. I witnessed. I also remembered how I had watched the Charas movie for the first time. It was in the year 19… Leave it, the next post maybe better for this. Today it’s Raj Mandir only.
I thought and planned quickly, we must experience why Raj Mandir is so important to be a part of the movie experience in life. The following day we headed to the theater. Bang Bang was the movie. So, it must be the month of October. I bought 2 tickets and entered the building. WOW and UNBELIEVABLE.
The exterior of the building features a distinct pink, which is characteristic of Jaipur’s architecture. It has one of the nicest interiors with lots of empty spaces for the audience to roam around, and take pictures. This gives you the feeling of a nice hotel when you enter the building. The carpets have a soft texture and are well-maintained.
In the middle of the big hall, they have kept a round stand with the bright lights. This stand has been filled with messages from legends like Yash Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, Raj Kapoor and Subash Ghai to name a few. It is evident that the messages are the focal point of many pictures taken of the theatre. In my case, they seem to be the focal point of many pictures. There is something beautiful about these stairs, and they look like the design of a well-built bungalow.
I watched Bang Bang and I think the Raj Mandir is not just a cinema; it is an experience. The interiors of the theatre are adorned with intricate carvings, ornate chandeliers, and plush seating, creating a luxurious ambience. The cinema’s large screen, state-of-the-art sound system, and comfortable seating provide an immersive movie-watching experience. Of course, I wasn’t the only one experiencing this. It has the power to draw visitors from all over the world. As I watched the title song, I didn’t want to get up from my chair, the sound, the dance, and the vibe simply made me want to stay there. Please keep playing.
My tiny mind can only imagine the effort they have put into maintaining that ambience of the theater. This will ensure that people who visit there can have and echo what the world is saying, or perhaps more, about the place. Commendable!!!

I also read that Indian movie stars travel to Raj Mandir for special screenings and premieres. They choose the theatre to watch movies because it holds so many special memories or sentiments for the movie fraternity. Being a huge movie fan I felt proud to be part of this experience.
